Where to eat in Gili Meno: best restaurants and what to order

Gili Meno is one of the three Gili islands located in Northwest Lombok, Indonesia. It is the most suited for a romantic getaway, a relaxed beach resort experience and a honeymoon trip. While this makes its culinary scene a bit poorer  (let’s face it, most honeymooners run on room service), it does not mean that there are no amazing options for a nice meal. Top recommendations on where to eat in Gili Meno

Indonesian food

One of the best places to have authentic Indonesian food as well as delicious fresh seafood is Tip of the Tongue Warung. Try their prawn curry or their chicken lalapan, and end the meal with one of their delicious homemade brownies! This spot is a bit hidden away in the middle of Gili Meno. Simpang 3 Warung is also a great local establishment offering Indonesiasn staples, such as delicious vegetarian curry or spring rolls, as well as some other options like sweet & sour chicken. A similar option is Pak Man Warung, located nearby.

A great option offering a varied array of fresh Indonesian food by the beach and overlooking the mountains of Lombok is Mama Melani Warung. They offer very good grilled fish, which you can choose yourself from the catches of the day. They also serve other dishes, such as curries, banan pancakes and they make smoothies. Ya Ya Warung is very similar, also serving catch of the day grilled fish at the beachfront in the Eastern coast.

International food

If you’re craving for a comforting pizza or burger meal but still want to enjoy the gorgous tropical views of Gili Meno, I have a treat for you! Adeng-Adeng Beach Restaurant and Bar, located at the northern tip of the island, is a beachfront establishment with cute Balinese vibes but serving delicious thin crust pizza as well as burgers, hot dogs or pasta. It is also a great place to have a nice cocktail looking at the sunset.

If you want sunset drinks with a social vibe, Sasak Cafe is one of your best bets. While it doesn’t necessarily fall into the international food category, since they also offer local dishes, it is mostly seafood BBQ and cocktails and they offer other food like quesadillas or fried chicken. The food is quite tasty and the cocktails nice and cheap. They have live music often so it is a perfect spot to watch the sunset with a piña colada!
